Trauma-informed support groups for survivors of power based personal violence across California.
Healing doesn't have to happen alone
The idea of group therapy can feel intimidating. What if you're overwhelmed? What if you share too much, or not enough? What if someone's story triggers you, or yours triggers them?
These concerns make sense. Group therapy at Honey & Twine is structured, facilitated by licensed providers, and built around safety. You're never forced to share. Sessions are intentionally small and guided with clear boundaries.
This isn't a free-for-all. It's a carefully held space where survivors support each other without anyone carrying the weight alone.
You might be wondering if this is right for youIf you're considering group therapy, you might be:
✿ Wanting connection without having to explain everything from scratch
✿ Feeling isolated in your healing
✿ Curious about shared experiences but wary of being triggered
✿ Already in individual therapy and wanting additional support
✿ Wondering if anyone else feels the way you do
✿ Looking for practical tools and validation
✿ Tired of doing all the emotional work alone
✿ Seeking something between individual therapy and self-help
What group therapy looks like at Honey & Twine
Group therapy means meeting with other survivors in a healing and structured space facilitated by a licensed therapist. Groups are small (typically 6-8 people) and are offered at various cadences to maximize clients ability to attend.
Every session has structure. Your provider guides the conversation, keeps time, and ensures everyone feels safe. There are clear agreements about confidentiality, respect, and pacing.
Sharing is always optional. You can listen, participate as much or as little as feels right, and pass when you're not ready to speak.
This is therapy, not just another support group. That means clinical oversight, trauma-informed facilitation, and attention to what's happening in the room—and in your nervous system.

MEET THE TeamWe've built our practice around supporting survivors
Our licensed providers have dedicated their careers to supporting survivors of sexual violence, domestic abuse, stalking, and complex trauma. We're not generalists trying to do everything. This is what we do, and we do it well.
At Honey & Twine Counseling, our team is led by survivors and trained specialists who know that healing from trauma requires more than textbook knowledge. It requires lived understanding, deep compassion, and specialized expertise.
Whether you're looking for EMDR, somatic therapy, DBT, or trauma-informed expressive arts psychotherapy, our team brings evidence-based approaches tailored to your needs. We work with individuals, families, children, and adolescents across California.

No. You can listen and observe without speaking if that's what feels right. Some people share early on, others take weeks to feel comfortable. Your therapist won't call on you or pressure you to participate.
-
Our providers are trained to notice when someone is struggling and will check in. You're also encouraged to take breaks, turn off your camera, or step away if you need to. We normalize self-care during sessions.
-
Yes. Some people do both, others just do group. If you're working through acute trauma or need more intensive support, your therapist may recommend individual therapy alongside group.

-
It depends on your plan. Some insurance plans cover group therapy, others don't. We'll verify your benefits before you join and let you know your cost. We also offer payment plans.
