A trauma-informed practice built for survivors and the people who love them.
A trauma-informed practice built for survivors and the people who love them
Honey & Twine Counseling provides specialized therapy for individuals, families, and communities impacted by the fallout of sexual violence, domestic violence, stalking, and complex power-based harm. We offer a healing space where safety, pacing, and survivor choice come first.
We are building towards a future where trauma-informed care models support generational healing —not just individual recovery. Where survivors and their communities have access to informed, specialized support, and where therapy becomes preventative, not just reactive.
Honey & Twine exists to support survivors of power-based personal violence — and everyone who loves them. These commitments guide every part of our work:
Survivor-Centered
Your voice, your pace, your choices guide the work. We care for the whole person, not just the harm.
Rooted in Love
Healing grows from love, dignity, and genuine human connection — not just intervention.
Consent & Boundaries
We model the consent and boundaries that power-based violence violates. How we show up is part of the healing.
Power-Conscious & Liberatory
We name and resist the systems of power and oppression that cause harm, and practice toward liberation.
Identity-Affirming & Culturally Aware
We honor and affirm all identities — especially marginalized ones — and stay in lifelong learning from those we serve.
Whole-Family, Whole-Community Care
Healing happens in relationships. We support survivors, their loved ones, and the communities around them.
Accountable & Trauma-Informed
We hold ourselves accountable to our communities and our craft, grounding every practice in trauma-informed, evidence-informed care.

Step 1: Fill Out Our Confidential Inquiry Form
Click the request an appointment button to show our initial intake appointment availability and pre-screener form; this brief form should take clients roughly 5-10 minutes to complete. Once submitted, clients should expect to receive an email, text, and/or call back response (based on indicated preferred contact method) within 24 to 48 hours from one of our clinical intake team members.
Step 2: Meet With Our Intake Coordinator
Before your intake appointment, we'll send you a clear billing breakdown so there are no surprises. You'll fill out intake forms online (just a few clicks), then show up and start. Most clients begin within the same week.
It is important to note that all initial intake appointments will be held virtually by our clinical intake coordinator unless otherwise specified by one of our staff. In-person appointment requests can be scheduled to take place within our Long Beach office after the initial intake appointment is completed.
Step 3: Get Matched With Your Provider
Based on your needs, preferences, insurance, and schedule, we'll match you with the right clinician & service offerings from our team. We have clinicians with different specialties, approaches, and identities because the right fit matters.
